MAFS’ Sean D blames an ex for his reaction to Jo

He stunned Married At First Sight viewers on Tuesday, when he muttered ‘oh s**t’ upon seeing his ‘bride.’

And Sean D, 39, has blamed a bad breakup for his disappointed reaction to seeing single mum Jo, 39, walk down the aisle.

The Adelaide pub manager told The Fix on Wednesday that a former lover of 10 years left him so heartbroken two years ago that it still affects him today.

Speaking out: Sean D, 39, has blamed a bad breakup for his disappointed reaction to seeing single mum Jo, 39, walk down the aisle

‘It was difficult breaking up, it wasn’t like either of us did anything wrong – there was no cheating or anything like that,’ he said.

‘She became a fitness freak but was just crazy. We slowly drifted apart and that was it, we were done’.

He added: ‘We had a five-acre property together, and she ran out of time for me and the animals. It was really hard because I had to take responsibility of the farm. I got all the animals. When we broke up, we had nine dogs, two alpacas, and two horses.’

Sean described their split after a decade together as ‘really hard’ and ‘stressful’ because he thought they would spend the rest of their lives together.

It comes after social media reacted in horror after witnessing Sean and Jo tie the knot in a very awkward ceremony.

The newlyweds experienced completely different reactions to one another.

As bubbly bride Jo was walked down the aisle by her young son, she instantly fell-head-over heels for Sean.

However, he could barely raise a smile after setting eyes on his soon-to-be wife.

After their wedding ceremony, vivacious Jo excitedly gushed in a piece-to-camera: ‘My expectations have been met, and then some. To infinity and beyond. Winning! Jackpot! I’ve won the lotto!’

She continued to giggle and gush: ‘The experts have been spot on! He is for me. He couldn’t be anymore perfect’

However, Sean was feeling far less elated about their marriage.

Speaking privately with producer, the Adelaide-based groom struggled to find the words to describe how he was feeling.

'I don't think there was um, like, you know, um a massive spark straight away': Sean's wedding day was marked with a strong lack of enthusiasm, which went unnoticed by his bubbly bride

‘MAKE IT STOP’, another viewer wrote, with an accompanying GIF.

Another hilariously liked Jo and her enthusiasm to the infamously keen bride Muriel Heslop in the comedy smash Muriel’s Wedding.

‘Oh Jo, play it cool girlfriend!’ they wrote accompanied by a GIF from the 1994 film.
