MAFS UK star Thomas’ parents give their opinion on Adrian and tell him to leave the experiment

Married At First Sight UK star Thomas Hartley’s parents gave their brutal opinion on his relationship with Adrian Sanderson on the latest episode of the E4 show.

The TV star, 31, – who is coupled with Adrian, 37, on the reality show – visited his home city Liverpool where they met up with his mum and dad for a coffee.

Thomas’ parents were both in agreement that there wasn’t anything romantic between the pair and told their son to leave the experiment.  

Tom’s mother expressed concern as she felt he was holding back and wasn’t himself. She said: ‘Do I think Adrian fancies you, no. And to me it’s blatantly obvious.’

He replied saying: ‘I’m still open minded, honestly. We have really overcome a lot of obstacles in this experiment and I mean shockingly. You know he’s a good, all round person.

She then asked: ‘So does the good outweigh the bad?’ with Tom replying ‘Yes’.

Speaking about their intimate life, Tom’s mum asked: ‘So have you had a full on neck?’

He answered: ‘No and he can say whatever he wants but either you are A-sexual or you don’t fancy me. What do you think I should do?’

His dad then gave him a brutally honest answer: ‘As it stands, I’d leave.’

His mother completely agreed: ‘Yeah, same as your dad, I think it’s time to leave.’  

Speaking alone to the camera, Tom then said: ‘I really appreciate my mum’s opinions, am I riding it out too long? Am I waiting for something to happen that’s not going to happen? 

‘Right now in this moment I really can’t see myself getting to final vows after my parents advice. They know me better than anyone. It’s really difficult.

While Adrian and Thomas have had a series of horrendous rows on the show, most people are hoping they stay together because of their growth as a couple.

Over the previous weeks, they seem to be growing closer with Adrian gaining Thomas’ trust and helping him to open up about a painful past.

Viewers were brought to tears recently when couples were tasked by the experts to choose one thing that they would change about their partner.

Rather than saying something negative, Adrian said: ‘I would change situations in life that have led you to your defenses.

‘I would change every one of them, and I would stand there in front of them and bat them away.’

Thomas became emotional and said: ‘Can I just say, I respect you, you’ve listened and heard me, and I love you as a person and I really care about you.’

‘You mean the world to me. Thank you for having my back.’

‘That’s alright,’ Adrian responded. ‘It’s alright.’

The moving exchange came just one day after Adrian branded Thomas a ‘gas lighter’ in another explosive row.

‘You are f*****g pathetic’, Thomas said, before Adrian replied: ‘This is it, I feel like I’ve finally been pushed over the edge.’
