‘I feel very vulnerable and unsafe’: Magda Szubanski left ‘shaken’ after an anonymous nurse Tweeted about the actress’ recent hospital stay

Magda Szubanski has been left shaken after a Twitter user purporting to be a nurse published claims about her experience looking after the star.

The 58-year-old Kath & Kim star, who recently underwent an operation in hospital,  was shocked to discover the now-deleted Tweet and has since accused the nurse of acting unprofessionally.

Responding to the nurse’s post last Tuesday, Magda Tweeted: ‘Post-op is an extremely vulnerable time and I think your employers would be very concerned for the privacy of any patients in your ‘care”.

The comedian’s fans immediately rallied around her, posting messages of support and expressing anger towards the nurse.

Addressing her concerned followers, Magda Tweeted: ‘Thanks. I have to say it was quite upsetting to find that in my feed. Made me feel very vulnerable and unsafe.’

In a subsequent post, Magda insisted that, while she ‘bloody loves nurses and medical professionals’ and even wanted to be a doctor as a child, this ‘nurse’ has left her feeling very upset.

‘I have to say this has quite shaken me up. The thought that I’m not safe at my most vulnerable,’ the star Tweeted.

Magda has never been afraid to go head-to-head with her detractors.

In June, the passionate gay rights advocate was attacked online for setting up a GoFundMe called ‘For Love’ in support of the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

‘Can we please just have a sensible conversation?’ In June, Magda hit back at ‘vicious’ trolls, after she launched a campaign to rival Israel Folau’s controversial legal fundraiser

It was launched in response to Folau’s efforts to finance his legal battle against Rugby Australia using the same website after he was sacked in April for sharing homophobic Instagram posts.

The star had been criticised on social media for using cancer patients as ‘drawcards’ in her attempt to pull donors away from Folau’s campaign.

Appearing on The Project at the time, Magda said that the fundraising page she set up had ‘inspired a torrent of hate’ against her, which she described as ‘so vicious’.

‘Now that we’ve established there is a level playing field of abuse and victimhood, can we please just get on and have a sensible conversation?’ she said on the show.
