Maggots spotted in Ferrero Rochers

A stomach-churning video has emerged of a woman unwrapping Ferrero Rocher chocolates to find squirming maggots inside – after she had eaten half of the box.

Rachel Vile, from Bourbonnais, Illinois, claimed she spotted the creepy crawlies after she and her roommate tucked into the posh treats.

Footage shows Ms Vile peeling back the gold foil from several of the not-so-tasty morsels to reveal larvae wriggling on ‘every single one’.

Her video has had 40million views since she posted it on Facebook last week, with many viewers expressing their disgust at the alleged discovery inside the hazelnut, wafer, and milk chocolate treats.

Carol Wever said: ‘I’ve always given them out for gifts! I love them… but never looked for or expected they were full of maggots!’

Jordan Carver added: ‘I’ll stick to chocolate fingers.’

While Carol Thomas said: ‘That’s awful. This is so disgusting.’

Ms Vile, whose social media profile says she is a US Navy technician, captioned her video: ‘Never eating these again! This is what my roommate and I found. Maggots in every single one. I already ate half.’

The luxury chocolate makers are investigating Ms Vile’s complaint, and told customers to make sure they are storing their chocolates with care.
