Magician’s secrets revealed by his grumpy assistant

As traits go, honesty is not really the best policy for a magician’s assistant.

This amusing video shows a prankster revealing all his budding sorcerer friend’s best tricks.

The series of clips filmed by Chinese internet star A Gan shows him attempting a few illusions which are intended to show floating hands, bending bottles and levitating taps.

But each time he tries, the mood is instantly broken by his purple-haired pal, who steps in to reveal the hoax.

The first trick appears to show Gan wearing a glove and holding up a severed arm complete with creepy wriggling fingers.

But the stony-faced debunker pulls away the fake limb prop to reveal that the wiggling fingers actually belong to the magician and the glove is empty.

The next shows Gan appearing slam a smartphone into an empty plastic bottle but his friend reveals a slit in the side.

The magician then attempts to wow his online audience by seemingly taking a champagne bottle and scrunching it up into a ball inside a bag.

But his pal takes the bottle out to reveal that it is in fact made of rubber.

Next, Gan tries to impress by producing a colourful box from a seemingly empty paper bag – but his emotionless assistant reveals the box folds flat.

Finally he goes for arguably the most impressive looking illusion – a levitating tap.

As he gestures around the magnificent sight his cynical friend walks in, which instantly puts Gan on edge.

The assistant sits silently behind his friend before ultimately pulling the contraption apart to reveal that it is being held up by a clear plastic tube.
