There are six remaining celebrity contestants in Strictly Come Dancing.

And on Thursday, Maisie Smith, 19, admitted she’s worried about juggling EastEnders filming with rehearsals for the BBC dance competition, as the battle for the 2020 Glitterball Trophy comes to a climax.

Speaking on The One Show via video link alongside her dance partner Gorka Márquez, 30, Maisie confessed she’s concerned about the ‘next couple of weeks’ because she’ll be required to learn two, and then three, dances if they make the final.

Asked how she’s managing to balance both Strictly rehearsals and EastEnders filming, Maisie admitted: ‘I am a busy bee right now!

‘I have just been eating a lot, a lot of coffee and just sleeping as much as I can otherwise I don’t know how I stay awake.

‘Honestly, especially because the next couple of weeks on the show – if we’re still here – you learn two dances and then three dances in a week and film EastEnders at the same time.

Maisie, who plays Tiffany Butcher in EastEnders, will storm the stage to Little Shop Of Horrors for Musical Week this weekend, with dance partner Gorza Marquez.

Last Sunday, fans said goodbye to DJ Clara Amfo, 36, and her pro partner Aljaz Skorjanec, 30, after they lost out in the dance-off to Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing, 32, and pro Karen Hauer, 38, in a tense episode.

In this week’s episode, Maisie and Gorka are set to perform the Jive to the theme tune from Little Shop Of Horrors, a 1986 Musical/Horror film about a bookish florist who purchases a blood thirsty plant.

Maisie recently admitted she struggles with her nerves, saying: ‘The pressure gets to me… even this interview I was so nervous. When I’m nervous I have this serious expression so people think I’m over confident.’

Gorka backed her up, as he told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning: ‘You know what, she’s the opposite of confident.

‘I think because she’s an actress she gets into character and looks confident but I can tell you she is always like, “Gorka I haven’t got it, I don’t have the dance, I don’t know what to do.”

Despite being in the dance off twice, Maisie said she’s received a lot of support from former stars who have told her not to be ‘upset by this’.

She added: ‘Everyone has ups and downs, I’m not letting it get to me, we’re still here and we’re going to power through,’ she said.

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday at 7.25pm and Sunday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
