A major Australian internet service provided has infuriated its customer with a crash on Monday.

TPG said in a statement that ‘Our technical teams are working to resolve an issue causing disruption to fixed broadband services for our customers.

‘We will keep customers up to date on our progress towards restoring services and apologise for the inconvenience.’

‘This issue is affecting broadband services for TPG, Vodafone, iiNet, Internode and Kogan fixed internet customers,’ a TPG spokesman said.

Outraged customers immediately showed their anger on the company’s X account.

‘That took you 2 hours to communicate? Pathetic,’ wrote one.

‘I could help you with your clearly inadequate crisis management setup… It’s really not that hard.’

‘I expect free wifi for a year in compensation,’ another said.

‘Might have been a bit easier if you told everyone as soon at it happened,’ a third said.

Others used sarcasm as their way of responding to TPG and letting off some steam.

‘Thank you for finally informing the public,’ wrote one. ‘Did one of your technicians unplug the wrong cable again? As I once again have no internet after the first outage!’

Another wrote that the company’s message should have read ‘We have looked at it for 2 hours and come to the conclusion that it’s not working … great update there tpg, how about time estimates or what the issue is.’

Others offered TPG advice on how to deal with the situation.

‘Really need to make sure your call centres aren’t on the same network,’ one wrote. ‘Web, technical lines all went dark. Rookie move.’

Another wrote that they should ‘Try turning it off and back on again.’

But one commenter spoke for everyone suffering from the outage by asking a simple question – ‘How long will the system be down?’

TPG Telecom is home to brands including Vodafone, TPG, iiNet, AAPT, Internode, Lebara and felix.

It is the second largest telecommunications company listed on the Australian stock exchange.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted TPG for comment.
