Ellen – who has played the role of Dr. Meredith Grey for 14 seasons – is set to get behind the camera to direct an as-yet-untitled episode.
According to TV Line, the episode will show flashbacks to Alex’s (Justin Chambers) turbulent teen years.
This isn’t her first time Pompeo has served as director of an episode.
Her first time time was during season 13, episode 13 in the episode titled Be Still, My Soul for which she has received positive reviews.
