A male model has admitted to impersonating a police officer when he wore a police uniform he purchased from eBay to boost his ego.

Jordan David Hans Gill, 29, who also goes by the name Jordan Fristad, appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday where he also admitted to sending threatening emails to a police officer.

Gill, who often flaunts his extensive collection of guns of social media, was told by the magistrate he will likely have to serve jail time for his actions.

Defence lawyer Todd Trotter argued his client did not misuse the Australian Federal Police uniform as he did not perform any duties, the Daily Telegraph reported.

He said he was posing in the uniform and posting pictures to social media.

‘At the very worst it can be seen as an ego boost.’

He said Gill was being threatened, and posted the images to make people think he was a police officer.

‘He was dressing as an AFP officer and putting those images on social media as a very poor form of protection.

‘It was a call for help, it was an incredibly, incredibly poor call for help.’

Magistrate James Stewart said a prison sentence was justified as Gill had threatened the police officer.

Gill will be sentenced on January 31.
