Melbourne mum-of-two Chantel Mila, known as Mama Mila swears by vinegar, water and two tablespoons of vanilla extract in a spray bottle to clean her fridge.
She polishes each shelf, labelled tubs, crisper and side compartments to leave them clean and the vanilla extract ensures no odours waft as food ages or seeps into cracks.

She simply brews a coffee and places the leftover grounds into a small dish at the back of the middle shelf for a fresh scent every time the door is opened.
She posted her kitchen hacks to TikTok where more than 64,000 people viewed them and left comments of praise.
‘I like the idea of adding vanilla to the vinegar water. Coffee grinds in the fridge is a great idea,’ one wrote.
