A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of double murder today after the bodies of a middle-aged couple were found in their home.
Police officers forced their way into a house in Oldbury, West Midlands, at around 4am after receiving calls regarding the welfare of the couple.
Inside the property officers found the bodies of a woman, 54, and a 52-year-old man who were pronounced dead at the scene.
At 5.30am detectives arrested a 25-year-old man at an address in nearby Smethwick.

Police are not confirming if the man was the victims’ parents but say they are treating the murders as a ‘domestic-related incident’

Police said initial investigations had led detectives to believe it was a domestic-related incident and there was was no threat to the wider community.
Officers are supporting the victims’ family, the force added.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘We’ve arrested a man on suspicion of murder after the bodies of two people were found in Oldbury today.
‘We were called to the address in Moat Road following concerns for the welfare of the people living there.
‘When we forced our way in at around 4am, we found a man and a woman aged 54 and 52 respectively.
‘They were pronounced dead at the scene.
‘At around 5.30am, we arrested a 25-year-old man at an address in Smethwick on suspicion of two murders.
‘He remains in custody.
‘Our initial investigations have lead us to believe that this is a domestic-related incident, with no threat to the wider community.’

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: ‘We were called by police at 4.05am to a medical emergency at an address in Moat Road, Oldbury.
‘One ambulance, a paramedic officer and our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) attended the scene.
‘Upon arrival, crews found two patients, a man and woman.
‘Unfortunately, it quickly became clear nothing could be done to save them and they were confirmed dead at the scene.’
