Man, 28, ‘tries to STAB two cops’ outside a Sydney police station before he’s tasered and arrested

A man allegedly attacked two cops with a knife outside a police station in the early hours of this morning.

The male and female officers were walking towards north-west Sydney’s Eastwood Police Station at 3am when the man approached from behind.  

As the officer turned around, the 28-year-old man allegedly produced a 20cm knife and lunged towards him.

The Leading Senior Constable blocked the man’s arm before he swung the knife a second and third time at his head before running away.

Officers gave chase towards Ethel Lane, where one officer fired his Taser at the man without effect.

After a short pursuit the man, still armed with the knife, stopped and turned to face the officers.

Another officer then fired his Taser which caused him to fall to the ground.

Officers arrested the man and secured the knife. He was taken to Eastwood Police Station where inquiries into the incident are continuing.

The officer involved was not physically injured during the incident.
