The woman and one child were seen leaving the car in the hotel carpark, while an eight-year-old girl is left in the back seat in central Queensland

Queensland Police released CCTV footage of the alleged attempted abduction that showed the eight-year-old girl’s mother leave her alone for 30 seconds.

The chilling footage was shared by authorities to warn parents to keep an eye on their children at all times.

The vision shows a mother park her car at the Emerald Hotel as she drops two children home from a birthday party.

The woman and one child are seen leaving the car in the hotel car park, while an eight-year-old girl is left in the back seat.

A white ute can be seen pulling up alongside the parked car as the woman walks the child into the pub.

A man then jumps out of the truck and proceeds to walk behind the woman into the hotel, before turning and seeing the little girl alone in the back of the car.

He then walks back and appears to take something from his truck, taking note of the empty car park.

With no one watching, the man appears to turn and walk to the right hand passenger door and attempts to grab the child.

While the footage has no sound, police said the little girl begins screaming and the man is forced to run back to his truck.

A staff member pushing a trolley is seen walking into the car park as the man walks briskly back to his vehicle, before driving away.

The 36-year-old man is expected to appear in a Mackay court Saturday.
