Man, 43, gored to death by two bulls ‘the size of large cars’ on his family’s farm

Bryan Collins, 43, was gored to death by two bulls – one he had raised since its birth – on his family farm in South Carolina

A 43-year-old man gored to death by two bulls was found on Wednesday morning on his family farm in South Carolina.

Bryan Collins, remembered by family and friends as a ‘happy soul’, was working with the bulls on the family’s Mullins property on Tuesday night when he was killed.

His absence was first noted when he did not make it to work at the South Carolina Department of Transportation, before his family made the tragic discovery the next morning.

When he was found, his brother Wayne told WMBF there was at least one bull there and they were the size of large cars.

The coroner ruled two of the cattle were responsible for the gory death.

Bryan’s body was taken for x-rays and blood work, but the family declined an autopsy, saying they already had the answers they needed, and would not be euthanizing the bulls.

His twin brother Ryan told CBS17 Bryan had raised one of the bulls that killed him from birth.

His older brother Wayne shared his grief to social media, posting pictures of Bryan and professing his love for the man.

‘Boy am I going to miss you,’ one of the heartbreaking posts read.

His aunt, Debbie Thomas, also took to Facebook to mourn the 43-year-old, telling friends Bryan ‘let his light shine for Christ’.

‘You were loved by so many, Bryan! You will be so missed,’ she wrote.

‘Always with a smile on your face. I am sure you have a big one on your face now in heaven with your mother and dad.

‘RIP my sweet Bryan! Honored to be your aunt.’

Neighbor Faye McDaniels said the Collins family is known for their cows and bulls, and Bryan particularly was beloved in the farming community.

‘Brian is such a Christian-hearted guy, it’s just unbelievable,’ she told WMBF.

‘My heart is just broken. I just don’t know the words to say. He was such a nice person and he will dearly be missed by many.

‘He never saw a stranger. He was always smiling and talkative. He was a country guy, had a pretty smile on his face, and hard working. You would love him.’
