Man, 44, is charged with trespassing at Buckingham Palace while ‘carrying a knife and cocaine’

- The alleged incident came just days after an earlier security scare at Windsor
A man has been charged with trespassing at Buckingham Palace armed with a knife and carrying cocaine.
Cameron Kalani, 44, is accused of entering the Royal Mews at the Palace in May this year.
According to the Evening Standard, he is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court to face a charge of trespassing on a protected site.
The newspaper reports that he was carrying a kitchen knife and was in possession of cocaine on the same day as the alleged incident.

Kalani is due to appear at the magistrates’ court at 10am on Friday.
The alleged incident took place after two previous security alerts for the Royal Family earlier this year.
In April this year, security guards mistakenly let an unknown woman wander the grounds at Windsor.
The 44-year-old woman who claimed to be engaged to the Duke of York, was let into the Royal Lodge by bungling security guards.
Then, the following month, with security staff on high alert, a couple were arrested after climbing an exterior wall at Windsor near where the Queen walks her corgis and Prince Andrew lives.
The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace is responsible for looking after the state carriages, coaches and cars used by The Queen and members of the Royal Family during state occasions, including coronations, the State Opening of Parliament and visits by heads of state.
It is currently completely closed to visitors.
