A Russian man has been detained in a macabre double murder investigation after admitting to butchering his 83-year-old mother and stuffing her body parts in a freezer.

The unnamed man, 51, also confessed to killing his lover, 43,  due to jealousy and burying her dismembered body in the garden of a country house. 

Police found the 43-year-old’s body after using a ground-penetrating radar device on land around his remote country home.
