Man and 12-year-old girl killed in northwest Iowa after their tractor rolled over

  • Two people were killed in a single vehicle tractor accident on Saturday

A man and a 12-year-old girl from Iowa were killed after the tractor they were travelling in toppled over and crushed them both. 

The pair were found pinned under the vehicle and were pronounced dead on Saturday after being found in a ditch by the side of the road.

The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office were called to reports of an accident on the highway near Rolfe, Iowa northwest of Des Moines.

Authorities determined that Glenn Winthers, 46, of Rolfe, lost control of the tractor  while he was driving.

The tractor ended up in a ditch and rolled, pinning Winthers and a 12-year-old female passenger under the tractor. 

The two were pronounced dead at the scene.
