A man and a woman have been found dead and a child is fighting for life after a horror discovery inside a suburban home.
New Zealand Police were called to the house in Papatoetoe, South Auckland, at 9.50am on Monday following reports a body was inside the property.
A woman’s body and a child with critical injuries was found inside a bedroom of the Sunnyside Crescent home.

The boy has been taken to Starship Hospital.
Police searched the house and found a man’s body inside the garage.
The address has been closed off as police examine the scene to establish the circumstances of the incident.
Detective Inspector Colin Higson said they are in the early stages of their enquiries.
‘We are currently speaking with a number of individuals in relation to this tragic event,’ a police statement said.
‘Police are working to confirm the identities of the deceased and begin next of kin notifications, however we believe the two deceased were known to each other.’
‘We are unlikely to have a further update today unless there is a significant development.’
