George C. Livingston, 51, of Florida was arrested and charged with murder on Saturday after a 3-foot sword was found near a victim killed in what officials have described as a ‘violent attack’

A homeless man from Florida has been arrested and charged with murder on Saturday after killing another man with a 3-foot sword, despite claiming he was acting in self defense.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera said the two men were engaged in a ‘violent attack’ near the homeless camp where they both lived in Lake Worth, as George C. Livingston claims David Beckett was sexually harassing him.

58-year-old David Beckett’s bloody body was found dead near the railroad tracks in Florida.

Authorities say they discovered a man dead from ‘visible injuries consistent with a violent attack.’

Barbera said it is not clear what the two men were fighting about, however Livingston claims he was acting in self-defense after being sexually attacked by the now deceased man.

An arrest report states a 3-foot sword was lying next to Beckett’s body near the homeless camp where both of the men were living.

In spite of Livingston’s defense claims, witnesses and a person of interest were interviewed at the scene which led to his arrest on a charge of second-degree murder.

Livingston, a convicted felon from previous charges, is being held without bond and an attorney isn’t listed on any jail records.

Officials described the incident as ‘murder, dangerous depraved without premeditation’ on Livingston’s booking sheet.

He made his first appearance before a judge Sunday morning and ‘is being held without bond pending a full hearing to determine whether he can be released from jail,’ according to the Palm Beach Post.

This isn’t the first time Livingston has run into trouble with the law. He served two stints in prison in Florida after being convicted on stalking charges.
