Man arrested after biting police dog on the head

A New Hampshire man has been charged with resisting arrest and biting a police dog. 

Police say the man unsuccessfully tried to hide under a pile of clothes to evade arrest over the weekend and then put the police dog in a chokehold and bit it on the head. 

State trooper Daniel Livingstone and his German Shepherd K9 unit Veda joined Boscawen, New Hampshire, police to help respond to a shooting accident. 

As those on the scene tried to secure it, it was revealed that a person was hiding in the trailer in the back of property.

Two men inside the trailer – both with outstanding warrants – were resisting arrest.

Eventually one, the home owner, was able to gain entry to the trailer by breaking a glass door, but the man refused to hand himself over.

When Veda was deployed into the trailer, she quickly found the man who was hiding under a pile of clothes. 

The man then was said to have been kicking at both the dog and troopers before putting Veda in a choke hold and biting her on the head.  

Police haven’t released the men’s names. They say the man who bit the dog faces charges including resisting arrest, interfering with a police dog and assaulting an officer.
