A man who allegedly indecently assaulted a 12-year-old girl on a Sydney train reportedly shaved his head and moustache to avoid detection as he fled to Perth.
CCTV showed a man boarding a train at Wynyard about 12.30pm on New Year’s Day before the girl and her family boarded at Central.
He started talking with the girl after she sat next to him before he allegedly sexually assaulted her while her parents weren’t looking.

The man got off the train at Granville while the girl and her family remained on the train for another two stops before they got off at Parramatta and alerted police.
Devanesan Devasakayam appeared in Paramatta Bail Court today charged with aggravated indecent assault.
He allegedly shaved his head and moustache before fleeing to Perth from where he was extradited after police hunted him down, reported Nine News.
Police said in a statement: ‘Police have charged a man after he was extradited from Western Australia over the alleged indecent assault of a girl travelling on a train in Sydney’s west.
‘About 12.30am on Monday 1 January 2018, a 12-year-old girl boarded a train at Central Railway Station with her family, bound for Parramatta.

‘Police will allege the girl sat next to a man on the train and during the trip, he indecently assaulted her.
‘He then left the train at Granville Railway Station. Police were informed and commenced an investigation.
‘Following a successful media appeal, Western Australia Police arrested a 33-year-old man in Perth on Thursday 22 March 2018.
‘His extradition was granted by the Perth District Court on Friday 23 March 2018 and he was flown to Sydney, accompanied by officers from the Police Transport & Public Safety Command.
‘The man was taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with aggravated indecent assault. He was refused bail.’
