‘These are serious, appalling and unprovoked attacks on unsuspecting women who were all on their own and targeted from behind,’ Detective Senior Sergeant Callum McNeill said.

‘I want to reassure the Waitemata community that we are doing everything we can in our investigations to find the person responsible for these assaults so we can hold them to account.’

Police said the man, aged in his 20s or 30s, has olive skin and is about 180cm tall. He has a large build and his hair in a man bun.

In the first attack on October 10, a woman jogging along a walkway in Murrays Bay was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground.

She suffered concussion and a broken collarbone.

Two weeks later on October 24, a woman going for a morning jog suffered a broken nose when she was attacked in the same area.

Another woman walking in Moire Park, Massey, was attacked two days later.

In the latest assault on November 8, a woman was jogging near Browns Bay Road when she was thrown to the ground and punched multiple times in the head before the attacker ran off.

Police have released CCTV footage of a man seen nearby at the time.

Detective Sergeant McNeill asked the public, especially those exercising alone, to be alert and aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity.

Police have increased patrols of the area in the wake of the attacks.

Anyone with information about the assaults is asked to contact Waitemata Police on 105 and quote file number 191108/3003 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
