A man has reportedly carried a gun onto a Sydney train before police swooped and arrested him.
Officers boarded the train at Town Hall station about midday on Wednesday and arrested the 42-year-old passenger, Nine News reported.
A police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that officers intercepted the train after multiple calls from horrified commuters reporting that the man had a firearm.

Officers boarded the train at Town Hall station about midday on Wednesday and arrested the passenger, believed to be in his 30s
Images from the scene show what appears to be a firearm on the platform of the station after his arrest.
Police didn’t confirm to the network if it was a real gun, saying it may be a replica or a cap gun.
The man was still being held by police at 4.30pm as they continued to interrogate the man.
No charges have yet been laid, police said.
