‘I thought it was just a cool hovercraft with some additional attachments until the owner accelerated and took off,’ Mr Hanson told Daily Mail Australia.

The man behind the hovercraft, James Greenberger, said he’s been interested in hovercrafts since he was 12 years old.

‘Fast forward 15 years, I was laying in bed not able to sleep when I started watching YouTube videos of hovercrafts,’ Mr Greenberger wrote on Hovercrafter.

Mr Greenberger was directed to a Universal Hovercraft website and decided to build a small UH-10f hovercraft within two-and-a-half months.

He then decided to build a bigger craft and quickly got the plans for the UH-18spw, which is the craft in the video.

Mr Greenberger began the construction in May 2018 and by February 2019 had a fully built and working hovercraft.

‘The future is now,’ another user said.

‘We couldn’t believe our eyes! Magic moments,’ another person wrote.
