‘My brother got a $60 fine for parking on the foot path.’

The tradesman had been dropping a relative home from school and stopped into the home for five minutes.

The man’s sister said her brother was unable to find street parking and parked in the driveway, claiming there was plenty of room for pedestrians to get around the vehicle.

‘I think it’s a bit ridiculous,’ the sister told Yahoo News.

‘They couldn’t issue a warning or even knock on the door and ask him to move, instead they issue a fine, no questions asked.’

A local councillor was informed of the $60 fine and said he would bring it up in the next council meeting.

‘Just a bit disappointed that this has happened without a caution or warning of any kind,’ she said.

Furious social media users sided with the sister and brother who said there was more than enough room for people to go around.

‘It’s a load of sh*t! Most bigger 4bys can’t even fit under the garage door!’ one person wrote.

‘How the hell else is he going to park? That foot path is completely in way and leaves next to no free space!’ someone else commented.

‘Where the hell can you park when that footpath is right in the middle of your driveway?!’ another wrote.

‘The footpath should be on the verge. Not on the boundary line of the property,’ another commented.

‘That’s beyond ridiculous. Bloody money making for no reason,’ someone else wrote.
