An arrest has been made following the mysterious death of a man who was left outside a Melbourne hospital with serious injuries. 

Police rushed to the scene on Sunday after a man was dropped off at Casey Hospital, in Berwick, in Melbourne’s southwest, around 7.30am.

The man had suffered life-threatening injuries and neither he nor the person who left him have been identified.

Doctors treated the man at the scene but he died soon after.

Victoria police on Sunday afternoon confirmed they had a man in custody.

‘Police have arrested and are currently interviewing a male,’ a police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined.
