Man fights for his life in hospital after being ‘shot in the back’ inside a Sydney unit – as tactical police comb nearby streets for shooter on the run

  • Emergency crews were called to unit block in Warwick Farm just before 5.30pm
  • Police found a man in a serious condition with a gun wound to his back 
  • Paramedics rushed the victim to Liverpool Hospital under police escort

A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being shot in the back inside a unit block Sunday afternoon. 

Emergency crews were called to an address on George Street in Warwick Farm, south west of Sydney, just before 5.30pm following reports a gun had been fired. 

Police escorted paramedics as they rushed the victim to Liverpool Hospital.

They are yet to make an arrest and are searching for the gunman responsible. 

The extent of the victims injuries is unknown at this stage.

Police are speaking with a man who is assisting with inquiries, however tactical officers are searching the area for a second man.

It is unknown what role each of the men played in the shooting.
