West Coast needed to defeat their top-of-the-table opponents by between 20 and 25 points to leapfrog Melbourne into eighth-place, the final spot in the finals.

Melbourne controlled their own destiny heading into the last round of the AFL season, but a crushing loss to lowly Collingwood on Saturday afternoon meant they relied on other results to go their way.

The video begins with the man screaming at the TV as the Eagles jump out to an early lead.

‘Honestly this is unbelievable!’ the Demons fan exclaims.

Pat can be heard continually screaming in disbelief as his friends giggle around him.

A controversial free kick is awarded to the Eagles deep inside Adelaide territory, but their shot at goal misses.

‘That is justice!’ Pat shouts.

Pat then points at the TV and says ‘you’d better kick it’ as Adelaide star Eddie Betts runs in to take a shot at goal, before collapsing on the couch and hiding his face when he misses

The video then skips ahead to later in the match as Pat stands and loudly applauds the Crows clawing their way back into the match.

He then points at the TV and says ‘you’d better kick it’ as Adelaide star Eddie Betts runs in to take a shot at goal, before collapsing on the couch and hiding his face when he misses.

Charlie Cameron redeems his teammate and kicks a wonderful solo goal, sending the Demons fan and his friends into raptures.

West Coast then seize total control of the game, as Pat’s demeanour dips from standing to sitting, sitting to praying, and eventually praying to crying.

The final images show Pat with his hands on his head crying as Melbourne crash out in spectacular but familiar circumstances.

The depraved club and their fan base have not experienced finals football since 2006.
