Man follows woman two blocks and tries to abduct her in Melbourne

Abduction horror as a woman, 23, is followed into her apartment lift at 2am and then snatched from behind – as police release CCTV of a hooded man

A woman was followed two blocks to her apartment door by a stranger who put his hand over her nose and mouth and tried to abduct her.

The 23-year-old woman was followed to her apartment block in Southbank, Melbourne just after 2am on Saturday.

The woman entered her building via the carpark, and the man entered the building behind her.

 Investigators have released CCTV footage (above) of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries

The woman was unaware of him until he got into the lift with her. 

She got out at her floor and walked toward her door when the man grabbed her from behind.

He covered her nose and mouth with one hand and had the other around her waist, pulling her away from the door.

The woman was able to grab her door handle and fall into her apartment where her housemates came to her aid and the offender ran off.

Investigators have released CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries. 

The man is described as being aged in his 20s, thin build, brown eyes, dark eyebrows and clean shaven.

He was wearing a black hooded top, blue jeans, black runners with white edges and a black cap with a white logo.
