Man has ‘minefield of cottage cheese-life cysts’ squeezed from his back

A man whose life is being blighted by the severe cysts, blackheads and acne that cover his entire back has them squeezed on Bad Skin Clinic.

In tonight’s episode of the TLC show, Scott, 43, from Norfolk, reveals he’s hit rock bottom after the lumps get in the way of both his personal and professional life.

Paying a visit to 152 Harley Street, he hopes that Dr Emma Craythorne can finally provide a suitable treatment for his back.

During extensive treatment, the expert cuts, pops and squeezes the cysts and blackheads, giving him a completely new lease on life

‘The contents of this cyst is this sebaceous material, it’s this kind of cottage cheese consistency and this cottage cheese kind of smell!’ she jokes, in a bid to keep the mood positive.

At first glance, Scott is your everyday man – a husband, father and a successful car salesman, who seemingly lives a very normal life.

But in reality, he carries with him a secret that he hides on a daily basis, and has done for the past 20 years.

His back is covered in severe acne, cysts and blackheads, and is a constant source of embarrassment for him.

‘I’m just ugly. Why would anybody any to see any good in me?’ Scott admits.

As the expert squeezes the spots, she jokes: 'The contents of this cyst is this sebaceous material, it's this kind of cottage cheese consistency and this cottage cheese kind of smell!'

As well as being painful and irritable, his skin condition constantly and without warning gets in the way of his job.

‘I’m covered in bumps, lumps, and it’s something I have to live with every day,’ he explains. ‘They are just white lumps of jelly waiting to explode.’

‘It’s getting progressively worse as I’m getting older. When one [cyst] pops, you want to be somewhere else because the smell is awful.’

‘Whatever I’m wearing is ruined, there’s blood everywhere, pus everywhere. I’ve actually been with customers when one has popped, and I’ve just had to excuse myself and clean up.’

Even Scott’s wife, Heather, struggles with it. ‘It does make me gag every time,’ she says.

Feeling at rock bottom and after multiple trips to the doctor, Scott is finally hoping that Dr Emma Craythorne can give him the answers he’s been looking for.

‘I’m hoping Dr Emma can help me both physically and emotionally,’ he continues. ‘If there’s any chance of cleaning up my back, I’d be so happy. I could live my life again.’

Walking into the clinic, the 43-year-old describes his condition to the expert and even admits to attempting to remove the cysts himself.

‘I took some nail clippers to them,’ he says sternly, much to the doctor’s concern.

Understanding that Scott is at the end of his tether, she reassures him as he heads to surgery and once under local anaesthetic, she carefully cuts and squeezes his problems away.

‘It smells like cheese and rotten feet!’ exclaims Scott.

During the lengthy procedure, Dr Emma pops an astonishing 17 cysts and blackheads from his back.

‘It looks like a little worm,’ she jokes, removing the final cyst and cauterising the wounds to ensure they don’t reappear.

With the surgery over, Scott’s feeling much more positive and when he returns to the clinic two months later, his back is significantly better.

Impressed with how smooth his back is, Emma exclaims: ‘It actually does feel like a baby’s bottom!’

Emotional, Scott cannot show enough gratitude to the brilliant Dr Emma for her help.

‘It’d been getting me down for a while, so coming to see you was absolutely fantastic,’ he says tearfully. ‘You’ve showed me a way of how I can fulfill my life again.

‘I’m 100% better about everything, and it all comes back to what you did for me!’
