Police believe that shortly after 12am, a 29-year-old woman visited the address where the stabbing took place.

A second group of men then arrived at the house, where a fight broke out, officers said.

It’s unknown what sparked the brawl, with police currently interviewing witnesses about the relationship of those involved.

Detective Inspector Chris Lawson said emergency services were called to a ‘horrific scene’.

‘To arrive there and find two people, you’re talking about the dead of night where it’s totally dark, people with those sort of injuries in the middle of the street – it’s something that will obviously affect those who attended and provided first aid,’ he told the Brisbane Times.

He said the whole event was ‘harrowing’.
