A man has been arrested at Holborn Tube Station in central London after reports of a man carrying a knife on a train.
Dramatic images from the scene show commuters rushing out of the station at rush hour as signs saying ’emergency do not enter’ flashed above the entrance.
Police were scrambled to the scene just after 4pm to reports of a man carrying a knife on a Central Line train.
The man, 33, was arrested at the scene and has been detained. The incident is not being treated as terror related.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: ‘Shortly after 4pm today, officers were called to Holborn station following reports of a man in possession of a knife on board a Central Line train.
‘Specialist officers, including firearms officers, attended the station and a man was detained at the scene.
‘The 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed weapon and has been taken to police custody as enquiries continue.
‘Two knives were recovered during the arrest. During the arrest, a suspicious item was found in the man’s possession.
‘As a precaution, the station was closed whilst officers made further checks. Follow assessment, this item is not believed to pose any threat and the station is starting to be reopened.
‘Passengers are thanked for their help whilst these checks were made. This incident is not believed to be terror related.’
The Central Line was closed in both directions, but has now been re-opened. There are severe delays on the entire line.
