Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was found with stab wounds on a wealthy residential street today.

Officers were called to the scene in Dartford, Kent, after reports of a man in his 40s found deceased in an alley on a property in Oakfield Lane.  

South East Coast Ambulance Service called Kent Police at 8.18am, and officers remain at the scene while inquiries continue. 

A man, also in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: ‘A murder investigation has been commenced by officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate after the body of a man was found in Dartford.

‘Kent Police was called by South East Coast Ambulance Service at 8.18am on 14 May 2020 to a report of a man being found deceased in an alleyway near Oakfield Lane, Dartford.

‘Police remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
