The elderly male driver involved in the accident was questioned by police before undergoing mandatory testing at the scene.

He is assisting police with inquiries, and Mirage News reported that the collusion did not appear to be deliberate.

The injured man is now clinging to life in hospital, as police investigate exactly what caused the car to veer up onto the footpath.
