Police release chilling image of a man who ‘sexually assaulted a teenage girl before trying to rob her’

A predator who allegedly sexually assaulted and tried to rob a teenage girl as she walked along a street at night is on the run.
The girl was walking in Varsity Lakes, on the Gold Coast about 8.10pm on Saturday when the man allegedly attacked her.
She told police the man tried to snatch the bag off her shoulder and touched her inappropriately.
The girl managed to escape from her alleged attacker and run to safety without being injured.

After being interviewed by police a computer-generated image of the man was released in the hope of finding him.
He was seen on Mattocks Road arguing on his phone before he hung up and allegedly attacked the victim.
He was described as Caucasian, about 30 years old, and 180cm tall with blond hair, wearing a black hoodie, dark grey tracksuit pants, and orange shoes.
Anyone who recognises the man or has any information is asked to contact police.
