A man has gone viral for the hilarious prank he played on his wife while she was having a girls’ night out with her friends.

Twitter user @HenpeckedHal shared with followers Monday a prank he pulled on his wife after she decided to have a night out while he stayed home from the kids.

‘My wife left me home alone with the kids to go out drinking with her friends. A lesser man might whine and complain, but instead I’m just playing Chumbawamba’s 1997 hit “Tubthumping” over and over and over,’ the man shared in a tweet.

But that wasn’t the end of the prank.

He was not playing the hit song for himself over and over again. Instead, he tapped into the jukebox at the bar his wife was currently at with her friends courtesy of the TouchTunes app.

The tweet showed a grab of the man’s TouchTunes app showing the Tubthumping song set to play over and over again at their local bar.

Also included with the tweet was a grab of his text messages to his wife further trolling her while she was out with friends.

He first texted her, writing: ‘Having fun?’

His wife responded informing him that she was about to get another round of drinks, and this was when the man decided to hint about his prank by including lyrics to the repeated song.

‘You drinking a whiskey drink or a vodka drink,’ he asked, but his wife didn’t get the hint and only said she ordered a margarita.

This encouraged the man to again include hints about the song.

‘The bath SUCKED,’ he wrote, adding: ‘The kids kept thumping in the tub.’

But still his wife was not catching on he was responsible for the song continuing to play throughout the bar she was in. So the man gave it one more shot by again including the lyrics in his text message.

He wrote: ‘I got them down, but they got up again.’

To this, she responded, ‘Wait…wtf. ARE YOU DOING THIS???’

It was never revealed exactly how long the man tortured his wife with the same song at her bar, but the song was set to play at least six times according to the grab.

People online called the man a ‘genius’ for his prank against his wife, with some saying it was their favorite of all time.

‘This is my favorite “couples prank” of all time,’ one Twitter user wrote.

TouchTunes official Twitter page even joined in on the fun by showing the man exactly what he caused because of his consistent playing of the song.

‘Look what you’ve done,’ the page wrote while sharing a chart showing Tubthumping plays per day, which significantly increased the day after his viral tweet.

Other people admitted to also accessing TouchTunes for a bar nearby to help them out in specific circumstances before they’re in the bar.

‘I use TouchTunes from my Uber on my was to local bar,’ one man wrote. ‘I play Johnny Cash Ring of Fire as my walk-up song. One of the bartenders even has a bourbon ready for me when I walk in.’

The man’s prank potentially inspired more husbands to pull a similar one on their own partners.

‘I just showed this to my husband and he is dying of laughter because it is 1000000% what he would do,’ one woman wrote.
