Man pretending to deliver a letter ‘shoves a grandmother aside before trying to kidnap her two granddaughters, aged seven and eight’

  •  He shoved a 67-year-old grandmother and tried to convince children to leave

A man attempted to kidnap two young girls by pretending to deliver a letter to their grandmother’s house.

The 67-year-old woman was at her home on Anderson Street, in Forrestfield, Perth, with her three grandchildren on Wednesday.

A man knocked at the door pretending to deliver a letter but he pushed past the grandmother and went inside the house to where the children were playing.

He then attempted to lure the eight-year-old girl away before turning to the seven-year-old and asking her to leave with him.

When both girls refused to leave with him, the man he fled.

Police are investigating and have asked the public to come forward with information about the man, who is described as stocky, with olive skin, and short black hair.  

He may have been driving a vehicle similar to a grey Honda CRV, with the number plates obscured.

The incident comes a week after a seven-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from a Kmart store in Brisbane.

The girl had been shopping with her mother when a man allegedly lured her away before sexually assaulting her.
