Recalling the horrifying incident, Reece said: ‘One said “what’s going on?” He said “it was you wasn’t it?”. He said “you hit the window” and I said “I didn’t mean to”. He said “I’m gonna break your legs”.

‘He said he was going to call his brother. I just said ‘I didn’t mean to’.’

One of Reece’s friends filmed the brutal attack that followed as the thug shouted ‘I’m going to kill you, you c**t’.

Another pal, Tommy, said: ‘There were about 25 of us, we went out about four-ish.

‘He had a stick, he was swinging it about but didn’t intentionally mean to do it but a little bit on the end snapped off and it caught the window.

‘This guy came out and started having a go at everyone and Reece just walked off but then the rest of us were having a go at him. He said “I’m gonna get my brother, he’s your age”.

‘Reece came back and said “mate I’m sorry I’m disabled, I’m just messing about”.

‘Then he said “I don’t care if you’re disabled my brother is gonna batter you”, he’s about your age as well, he turned up and he was about 18/19.’

The group walked off at that point and then the perpetrators found Reece.

Tommy said the group gathered around Reece and punched him several times before pushing him to the floor and stamping on him.

Reece’s mum Caroline said she has now been left worried to let him play out with friends after the incident.

She said: ‘I think for a couple of seconds he could have even lost consciousness because he couldn’t even remember what happened.

‘The policeman said “do you remember being kicked or stamped on?” and he said “I don’t know, I can’t remember”.

Caroline found out about Reece’s assault when her partner called her to the hospital to say that Reece had been attacked ‘by five men’.

She added: ‘Reece was throwing up, he had concussion. He had a massive black eye, he had cuts.’

A member of staff at Reece’s school had luckily been in the area visiting a friend and saw Reece had been injured so rushed him straight to hospital.

Caroline said: ‘I just thought oh my god what has happened, who has done this?

‘It’s made me really, really worried.

‘I was worried before because as I say, he has got ADHD and there’s also a teenage boy mixed in with that so he is very hyper, he can be gobby, I’m not for one minute going to suggest he can’t.

‘But we’ve all been one of those kids. The first thing I said to him was what did you do?

‘Even I thought you’ve done something. What have you done to deserve something this bad?’

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and want to talk to the man pictured after.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact police quoting CR/082983/17.
