Police officers shot dead a man who confronted them when they responded to a call at a house in Bathurst on Wednesday night.
NSW Police said in a statement the man died at the scene after police responded to reports of ‘an incident’ at a residential street in Kelso, a Bathurst suburb, at about 7pm.
Four ambulances arrived at the home, reportedly in View Street, and a helicopter landed on a nearby oval, the Western Advocate reported.
A critical incident investigation has been launched to examine all circumstances surrounding the incident.
View Street has been closed off at both ends by the police.
