Horrifying images have revealed the moment a man was shot with a speargun inside a car on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Emergency services removed the man, 50, from the vehicle on Coonanga Road in Avalon Beach, Sydney on Friday around 5pm.

The man was airlifted by a Careflight helicopter to the Royal North Shore Hospital around 6pm and remains in a stable condition.

The Ambulance Service of NSW told Daily Mail Australia four crews were called to the scene around 4.45pm.

The man was treated for a spear gun shaft injury to his left abdomen.

Ambulance services said the man was conscious and breathing, suffering relatively minor wounds.

NSW Police told Daily Mail Australia investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
