Man to face court over two stabbings at Sydney bus stop

A man with a ‘noticeable boil’ on his face who allegedly stabbed two people at different Sydney bus stops is behind bars and due to face court.

The 32-year-old was arrested a short time after a lunchtime stabbing of a man at a busy CBD bus stop on Wednesday.

The 39-year-old victim was waiting in a bus queue outside Wynyard railway station about 2pm when he was allegedly struck in the back of his neck. He was treated at the scene and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

While searching for the alleged attacker on Wednesday police said they were looking for a man with a ‘noticeable boil’ on his face.

Police will allege the 32-year-old also stabbed a 50-year-old man in the shoulder at a Brookvale bus stop, in the city’s north the previous day. 

That victim was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment.

The 32-year-old man was remanded in custody and is due to face Central Local Court on Thursday.

Police have said inquiries into the stabbing are continuing.
