A man who traded two cases of beer for a ‘unicorn’ sheep to save the animal from being slaughtered has no regrets.

South Australian stock agent Michael Foster knew he had to do everything he could do save the Joey the sheep from turning into dinner.

‘I thought it might have been a joke to start with, but I thought, ”yeah it looks like a unicorn”,’ he told 7NEWS.

‘I’ve been a stock agent for about six years and it is definitely the first time I have come across anything like it,’ Mr Foster said.

‘To the best of our knowledge, it is the only one in Australia.’

Joey is now living in Mr Foster’s backyard and has become the talk of the town.

He told the publication that his kids are enjoying having a ‘real-life unicorn’ to play with, and hopes to one day take it to Hollywood.
