Alert for parents as mystery driver with a facial scar tries to snatch an eight-year-old girl waiting for the school bus

An alert has been issued for parents after a mysterious man with a scar on his face tried to snatch an eight-year-old girl who was on her way to school.
The young girl had been walking to her school bus stop in Hawkesbury Heights, in New South Wales’s Blue Mountains on Monday around 8am when she was approached by the man.
The man, believed to be in his 30s or early 40s, stopped his car and then offered the young girl a lift, police say.

The eight-year-old denied the invitation and alerted staff at the school immediately.
An investigation has since commenced into the man who police describe as being Caucasian with dark curly hair and a scar on his face.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
