Manchester United are reportedly closing in on a £76million deal for Red Bull Salzburg wonderkid Erling Braut Haaland in January but will have to loan him back for the rest of the season.
The 19-year-old forward has attracted interest from clubs in Europe after impressing for RB Salzburg in the Champions League and Austrian Bundesliga this season.
And United appear to be leading the race for Haaland with an agreement near if he returns to RB Salzburg for the second half of the 2019-20 campaign, according to The Sun.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinted at a move for Haaland next month on Sunday after being asked about visiting the forward.
‘I don’t comment on speculation so that’s it. He knows what he wants to do and what he’s going to do,’ he said.
Haaland has netted an exceptional 28 goals and supplied seven assists in 22 appearances for the Austrian outfit this season.

The striker has been linked to the likes of Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. Leipzig reportedly have the option to acquire his services for just the £20m release clause due to being part of the Red Bull family.
Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche confirmed an offer has been made earlier on Tuesday, with the club waiting to hear back from the representatives of Haaland.
Solskjaer was asked about his trip to Salzburg after United’s 1-1 draw with Everton at Old Trafford, following reports that Haaland has chosen to sign for United in the winter transfer window.
United have made signing a striker and two central midfielders their main priority over the next two transfer windows.
