Manchester United’s unbeaten record under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came to an abrupt end on Tuesday night as PSG won 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Second-half goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe gave the Paris giants a huge advantage over United in their two-legged Champions League last 16 tie.

United will without star man Paul Pogba for the second leg next month after he was sent off late on for picking up two yellow cards.

Solskjaer oversees record-breaking defeat

This was United’s heaviest ever Old Trafford defeat in a continental competition.

Prior to Tuesday night, United had never lost a home European match by more than one goal.

The result also means that David Moyes remains the only United manager to win a Champions League match beyond the group phase since the 2010-11 season.
