According to Sky Sports Germany, Nkunku’s representatives are ‘in contact’ with Manchester United over a potential deal this summer.

United are said to be leading the race to sign the 24-year-old and an offer is ‘to be expected next week’.

However, Nkunku, who has a staggering 54 goals contributions in 50 games across all competitions this season, is contracted at the club until 2024.

Nkunku caught the world’s attention by scoring a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League in September 2021. He also netted against Bayern Munich, PSG and Borussia Dortmund.

The French international grabbed the headlines once again on May 5, 2022, when he scored a sensational volley Rangers during Leipzig’s Europa League campaign.

As a result, the Red Devils are eager to beat their Premier League rivals, Chelsea, to the Frenchman’s signature.

Chelsea have registered an interest in signing Nkunku as they are preparing for life without Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and possibly Cesar Azpilicueta too.

However, reports have stated that RB Leipzig do not want to let Nkunku go under ‘any circumstances this summer’.

Additionally, Nkunku has no exit clause in his contract, which runs until 2024. As a result, Leipzig hold all the power regarding the 24-year-old’s future.

However, the club’s managing director, Oliver Mintzlaff, is happy to issue Nkunku with an exit clause if he signs a new contract at Leipzig.

Although, this would mean Nkunku would have to play for Leipzig for at least another year.
