Man United take on Bayern Munich on Wednesday… but the Bundesliga champions will be without one key member of their side
Thomas Tuchel will not be in the dugout as Bayern Munich get their Champions League campaign underway against Manchester United underway on Wednesday night.
The German’s side were held to a 2-2 draw by Bayer Leverkusen on Friday night, with Harry Kane scoring the opener.
But Tuchel will NOT be on the touchline at the Allianz Arena for their opening European fixture of the 2023-24 season. Mail Sport has all the details below…
CHRIS SUTTON: Ten Hag is not living up to United’s expectations
So its two wins and three defeates after the opening five games of the season for Manchester United.
It’s been an underwhelming start, especially considering the work they did in the transfer window bringing in Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund.
Their 3-1 defeat to Brighton, at home too, further compounded their struggles further, but according to Mail Sport’s columnist, Chris Sutton, the Red Devils ‘are not in such a big crisis – compared to when Jose Mourinho was playing the blame game.’
Gary Neville blasts Man United’s new signings
Gary Neville has slammed Manchester United’s new signings, claiming that he ‘never thought for one second’ that they’d be good enough to help the club challeng rivals Manchester City or Arsenal.
Erik ten Hag acquired several new players signing Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount and Andre Onana, spending nearly £200million on signings, but they have failed to have a big impact at the club so far this season.
United were beaten 3-1 by Brighton at the weekend in a disappointing game that compounds their uninspiring start to the season, that has seen the club drop to 13th in the table after five matches, winning two games while losing the other three.
Neville, meanwhile, has claimed that United should have signed Harry Kane and Declan Rice instead.
Antony accuser ‘DROPS her complaint against the Man United star
First, reports this morning suggest that one of the three women to accuse United winger Antony of violent behaviour has dropped their case.
The 23-year-old is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriedn Gabriela Cavallin on four occasions and is being investigated by police in Sao Paulo and in Manchester.
He has denied any wrongdoing and has not been arrested or charged.
But a third case involving an incident in a car in 2022 has been withdrawn at the request of the alleged victim, according to a new report.
