Man wearing a baseball cap with a full sleeve tattoo wanted for questioning after a woman’s credit card was stolen from an ATM and used on a spending spree

  • A woman’s credit card was stolen in Melbourne’s south-east on September 5 
  • It was taken after the woman accidentally left it in an ATM in Wheelers Hill  
  • Police have released images of a man they believe can help with their enquiries  

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe can help with their inquiries as they investigate a stolen credit card in Melbourne’s south-east earlier this month

Police are searching for man wearing a baseball cap and sporting a full sleeve tattoo after a woman’s credit card was stolen.  

The card was taken from an ATM in Wheelers Hill, in Melbourne’s south-east, on September 5.

Police said in a statement it is understood the woman had deposited cash in an ATM at a Springvale Road shopping centre, only to accidentally leave her card in the machine when she walked away.   

A man who found the card used it to withdraw cash from the machine.

Items from a service station at the corner of Ferntree Gully and Springvale roads were then purchased on the card.

The card was also used at two shopping centres, one on Dandenong Road, Malvern East and another at Victoria Street, Richmond. 

Detectives have now released images of a man who they believe can help with their enquiries as they investigate the stolen card. 

The man is aged in his late 20s, Caucasian in appearance and about 185cm tall with a solid build and a sleeve tattoo.  

He was also wearing glasses and a baseball hat at the time.
