‘She was wearing a mini skirt so she wants attention’: Hungarian man who was tackled by a cop claims his grubby comments to a teen girl ‘happen all the time in Europe’

The Hungarian man who was tackled by a police officer after making inappropriate comments to a young woman has spoken out, saying the girl ‘wants attention’.
The man initially denied ever saying anything to the 19-year-old named Charlotte when he was questioned by reporters on Thursday.
‘I said nothing. I think she made a story up,’ he told 7 News.
‘How old is she by the way? Because she didn’t look that young. And she was wearing a mini skirt so she wants attention,’ he continued.
Upon being told that the woman was in fact a teenager, the 39-year-old father said he didn’t know her age.
Asked if he wanted to say sorry to the young woman and her father, he said: ‘Well, I’ll aplologise if they feel I’m guilty, of course I apologise.
‘But in my case, in Europe, it’s happening everyday. I (would) just tell them not to go to Europe because she’s a pretty girl so she will experience this everyday, you know what I mean?’ he added.

The man went on to say that he treats women with respect, and that he has a four-year-old daughter and would also be upset if someone ‘hurt’ her.
However, his remorse didn’t last long as he went on to say that the young woman’s father who chased after him ‘overreacted’.
‘I just said to the girl “I think you are a very pretty girl, would you like to have a coffee with me?” and that’s how I started,’ he admitted just moments after denying talking to her.

He then said that if someone approached his daughter with similar remarks he would be ‘proud, because she’s a pretty girl’.
The incident took place on Wednesday while Detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards was speaking to reporters outside Maroochydore Police Station on the Sunshine Coast.
The Hungarian national had just been released from the Maroochydore watch house on public nuisance charges, before allegedly saying inappropriate things to the teenager.
Snr Sgt Edwards noticed the the man being chased by Charlotte’s angry father, Kevin Scells, who was angrily shouting: ‘You better get running, run, run, run!’
Without hesitation, Mr Edwards turned around and tackled him to the ground.
‘I was just sitting in the car and this man’s said a few inappropriate things to my daughter and I’ve just reacted by chasing him up the road and it just happened to be you guys were here at the same time,’ Mr Scells told 9News.
Charlotte claimed the man approached her twice and continued to flirt with her.
‘He just asked me if I was single, saying that I was beautiful and he was going to buy me stuff. I just told him to go away and I wasn’t interested,’ she said.
Queensland Police told Daily Mail Australia that the man had been charged with public nuisance and unlawful stalking before he was released prior to the incident.
