A man has been captured on video attacking a car while screaming at its driver in a fit of rage.

The terrifying footage, published on ViralHog, shows a formidable man exit his small, silver Toyota on a quiet street in Wellington, New Zealand, at a set of lights before approaching the vehicle behind him.

The driver, who said he recorded the altercation because he knew he ‘was going to get some entertaining footage of that bean bag,’ promptly told the man to ‘f*** off’ on approach.

In retaliation, the man slammed his hand against the bonnet of the car, returned to his vehicle and sped away.

The driver said the altercation began when the angry man honked his horn at him.

‘As I was driving down the Wellington side, I heard a honk and looked in my mirror to see the idiot in video flipping out. Then he passed me and tried to run me off the road, so I gave him the finger,’ the driver said.

‘Sure enough he pulls in front of me, so I have to stop. At this point, I hit reverse and he eventually gives up and drives off.’

‘I carry on knowing there are a lot of lights coming up and there was going to be a good chance of getting at least one red, so I locked my door in advance and get my camera ready.’

‘The end result was that he tried to get in my car and then punched my bonnet,’ he said.
